At a typical networking event you end up with a stack of paper business cards that you later have to type into your phone one by one. Imagine pulling out your phone, scanning a single QR code and having the whole contact saved with a single tap.
QR (Quick Response) codes are two‑dimensional barcodes that store data and can be read instantly. A 2023 survey showed that 68 % of Turkish businesses already prefer QR‑based payment and contact methods. Free QR‑code generators let small and medium‑size companies create digital cards without hurting their marketing budget.
When the code is scanned the smartphone automatically creates a vCard (VCF) file containing name, phone, e‑mail and address. The user simply presses “Add” and the contact is stored. The whole process takes 2‑3 seconds on average (scan time ≈ 1.2 s, vCard size ≈ 1.2 KB) and the error rate stays below 3 %.
